[BATA] Los Altos Youth Theatre Seeks Music Director

The City of Los Altos Youth Theatre is looking for a choral/musical director
for its summer production of Bye Bye Birdie.  At the moment we do 3 dramas
and just one musical per year.  We are a program of the City of Los Altos
recreation department and have use of the Bus Barn Theater for approximately
12 weeks per year.
Shannon Stowe is directing and doing choreography.

Schedule:
Auditions are May 26, 28 & 29, 4 to 6:30.
Performances are scheduled for August 15 to 30, exact dates and times TBA.
Rehearsals start July 7.  We plan to rehearse Mon thru Fri 1 to 4:30.
The vocal rehearsals could be just a few days a week.
Tech week will be August 10 to 14.  Those rehearsals are usually in the
evening.

Reimbursement:

Fee for choral and musical direction would be $1200.  This includes
auditioning singers, helping to cast the show, being available for
rehearsals and tech week and most perfomances.  The musical director would
also be in charge of organizing the musical accompaniment.
(We do not know what our best choice would be in terms of music for this
show in the Bus Barn.  We would like the musical director to help make that
choice then find a combo or recording or keyboardist-- whatever seems best..
)
