IMPROV SCENE LAB (Spolin Based)
Practice. Practice. Practice. Perform improvised scenes and get immediate constructive feedback. Make your scene work more varied, interesting and successful. Discover elements and methods of successful scene work in order to work better with your partner, make the strongest choices and break bad habits. The lab is taught by Doug Kassel.
DOUG KASSEL has over 30 years experience in improvisational theater. He was Creative Director and a founding member of San Francisco’s longest-running 100% improvisational theater company, Flash Family.
Doug studied with Viola Spolin at The Second City in Chicago during the writing of her ground-breaking Theater Games book, Improvisation For The Theater. He performed with Spolin’s Playmakers, The Game Theater and Paul Sills’ Story Theater. Doug has numerous regional and national acting credits.
Specifics
Location: 287 17th Street, #220 Oakland
(three blocks form 19th Bart and Lake Merritt)
Time and Days: Mondays from 7pm to 9:30pm
Term: Ongoing. Requires a two-month minimum commitment
Cost: $100 per month, the first enrollment 2 months ($200)
Class Size: A limit of eight performers.
