CALL FOR
ONE-ACT SCRIPTS!
DEADLINE 1/15/04
Acclaimed San Francisco theater company, Killing My Lobster, is producing
an annual festival of one-act plays called the Bruno’s Island New Plays
Festival.
We’d like you to submit your original one-act script for our 2004 festival
in June at the Magic Theater in San Francisco. Wait! What is Bruno’s
Island? Bruno’s Island is a one-act play festival devoted to original
work. The festival debuted in San Francisco in May 2003 at the Thick House
Theater.
Bruno’s Island was a small sand bar in a Western Pennsylvania river where
Lewis and Clark tried out some of their equipment before embarking on
their long journey. Some of the equipment worked, and some didn’t. In the
end, Bruno’s Island was deemed a safe place to try out new stuff. To us,
that seemed like a good metaphor. Bruno’s Island: A place to try out some
new plays.
That’s the background. Here’s how to submit your play to Bruno’s Island:
1) Write a one-act play. If you already have written one, then you’re well
on your way. (By one-act we mean something that is anywhere from 25-70
minutes long).
2) Print out your play.
3) Copyright all materials.
4) Include your name, address, phone number, and email address, and mail
one-act play to:
Bruno’s Island
PO Box 170309
SF, CA 94117
Or email to:
Brunos@killingmylobster.com
5) Submissions are due by January 15th.
6) Chosen plays will be announced on February 15th.
Thanks and good luck.
