I am very happy and excited to announce our next weekend class guest teacher
Richard Hicks, CSA. Richard is currently casting three new TV series: "At End
Of Day", "The L Word" and "It's All Relative". This weekend class is
scheduled for August 23rd and 24th. I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that yet
again this class has already begun had people signing up for it since last
month when the word got out about it. Presently with over a month to go before
the class, we are down to only a handful of open spots in the class.
It definitely is the case that every month for the past few years we've been
bringing up some of the best in the business. Richard is no exception and has
been nominated for the Artios Award for casting various projects each of the
past 3 years to prove it! He is definitely another HUGE notch on the belt of
what we've been able to provide as a unique learning opportunity for Bay Area
actors. His past credits include casting "Shall We Dance" starring Richard
Gere and Jennifer Lopez to be released next year as well as the recent
critically acclaimed features "A Mighty Wind" and "Igby Goes Down".
During the weekend, Richard will be teaching and lecturing on a variety of
topics including his own industry perspective, things that stand out and really
make a good audition great, demystifying the process, ways to market yourself
in the industry and what goals to shoot for, ways to strengthen your
professional relationships within the industry, differences in casting procedure from
project to project, office etiquette, open question and answer, as well as
working on scene and audition technique, cold reading, and talking about
head-shots and resumes for the actors attending. In the past, the classes that we've
had taught by casting directors and industry exec's have been tremendous
opportunities for actors to get unique opinions and perspectives on how actors can
become adept at working in all the aspects of the acting industry. It has also
presented actors with an incredible forum to receive feedback from the best
about their acting craft.
If you are interested in taking this class, I urge you to write or call in
now for details on signing up.

* This is not a job interview or audition. The presence of a casting director
is neither a guarantee nor a promise of employment. The intent of the class
is solely educational. Attending a Workshop is not a way to obtain employment
as an actor. Such contact as you may have with a casting director at a workshop
rarely results in any further contact with that casting director or any
company affiliated with that casting director.
