Hello there,
I'm directing a murder mystery called Postmortem, by
Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor, Moon over Buffalo) for
Ross Valley Players in Ross (Marin). We held
auditions this weekend and had a very light turn out.
I would like to see additional actors, hopefully at
our callbacks tomorrow (Tuesday) evening or at an
alternative time, most likely Thursday evening and/or
Saturday afternoon.
Callbacks are scheduled for this Tuesday, July 29 from
7-10pm at The Barn (RVP's theatre) in the Marin Art
and Garden Center in Ross (on Sir Francis Drake past
the College of Marin).
We rehearse for six weeks beginning the first week of
August til mid September, and the show runs for six
weekends into late October (Sept. 19 through Oct. 26).
Roles I need to fill:
William Gillette, ideally 40's - 50's; an American
actor who made his career playing Sherlock Holmes.
Has begun somewhat to live the role in that he has
invited his cast to Gillette Castle for the weekend,
secretly to discover the murderer of his wife, Maude
who died one year ago (the police called it suicide;
Gillette believes otherwise).
Leo Barrett, ideally 40's - 50's; the actor who plays
opposite Gillette as Professor Moriarty, also his
brother-in-law. A solid man, likeable, loves his
wife, Marion (Gillette's sister), can be acerbic,
particularly toward the young male actor, Bobby
Carlyle.
Bobby Carlyle, 30's; good looking, boyish, stylish,
man about town, in love with the young female actress,
May (who is in love with Gillette), makes his own
attempt to solve the murder. Takes guff from
everyone, but is witty himself and definitely holds
his own.
If you are appropriate for one of these roles,
interested, and available, please contact me. Or if
you know someone else who might be appropriate and
available, feel free to forward this e-mail.
Thank you, and I hope to hear from you.
