Pan Theater Meisner and Improv Acting Classes

Meisner Classes:

Meisner Technique:

Christy English is a Los Angeles actress/director who studied with Sanford=20
Meisner for many years. Christy taught the technique in Los Angeles and has=20
moved to the Bay area. Christy was working as a full time director and recen=
tly=20
wrapped a film about teenage addicts. She is very knowledgeable about the=20
industry and is open to answering any questions.

This class is twelve weeks long and will be meeting during the day starting=20

Improv Basics:
The perfect class to learn or refresh your improv skills.   The supportive=20
environment will make it easy for you to let go of self-editing and delve in=

Scene work, scene work and more scene work. This class provides you with the=

class is for those with prior experience.  You get the chance to do several=20
scenes each night and get the feedback to make them even better.  This class=

taught by Doug Kassel.  Doug has over thirty years of improv experience. Dou=

studied with Viola Spolin in Chicago.  Doug also has numerous regional and=20

review (or learn) Meisner and Stanislavsky basics plus learn basic vocal tra=

for the actor. After we've warmed up- we'll dive into long form improv=20
technique and focus on scene work and multiple scene improvised plays (long-=

This ongoing class provides all of the fun of an acting class without having=

memorize a script!  Actors will sharpen their improv and improvisers will=20
learn traditional acting techniques. Plus we get to watch some nifty and cre=

This class provides a review of the basics for those who are rusty or want a=

quick refresher. This class is for those that have taken one previous improv=

class- either in the recent or distant past. But after that- we'll jump into=

scene work with exercises designed to reinforce the elements of a good scene=

You'll perform several scenes a night and get tons of feedback designed to m=
ake=20
your choices stronger and your scenes more enjoyable (both to you and the=20
audience).  We'll also explore a simple long form structure to give you a ch=
ance=20
