Hi all!
There are still a few spaces available for the upcoming Seydways Studio
Trigger Approach Class in San Francisco beginning this Sunday, October
26th. So, if you're interested, there's still time to sign up -- just
contact me ASAP. This is a six week intensive focusing on this valuable,
tangible way of approaching a script and subsequently achieving that
great "in the groove" feeling on stage throughout a performance. It's
what we as actors love to feel, and it's what the audiences love to see.
I'm excited to share this work with people, so please come join us. (see
detailed class info below)
Thanks!
Janis
Trigger Approach Class
Instructor: Janis Bergmann
Class Time/Days: Sundays, 6:00pm - 10:00pm
October 26 - November 30
Cost: 6-week session for $300.00
Location: Z Space@ 131 10th Street, San Francisco
To enroll or get more info: contact Janis Bergmann at bergmann8@juno.com,
or call (650) 949-7012
(a $50 deposit is required to hold a spot)
The trigger approach is a technique originally designed by Richard Seyd
as a way of breaking down text, thought by thought, to enable the actor
to live more authentically and spontaneously in the moment during
performance. All actors are told that "being in the moment" is
important, but no one teaches the actor how to be in the moment
effortlessly. The trigger approach is designed to give the actor a
working methodology for achieving that performance state.
The class will include an initial session with Richard Seyd, and will
continue with an in depth exploration of the approach through rehearsal
and performance of an assigned scene. There will also be improv work and
exercises to more fully develop spontaneity, relaxation, imagination and
character.
