On October 11th and 12th, we will have the privilege of hosting our latest=20
weekend class with the Director of Features Casting of HBO Films, Amy Jo Ber=
man.=20
HBO=E2=80=99s movie division produces a broad slate of films that run from l=
ow-budget=20
independents to big-event movies. Amy supervises casting for all of the HBO=20
original films including Emmy and Golden Globe winning films: "61*",=20
"Conspiracy," "Wit," "If These Walls Could Talk 2" and "RKO 281," among many=
 others. As=20
a Casting Assistant and Associate, she has also worked on a variety of=20
television series, pilots and features including Tony Danza's ABC series "Hu=
dson=20
Street," Nancy McKeon's CBS series "Can't Hurry Love" and feature films like=
=20
"Primary Colors" for Director Mike Nichols, and Disney's remake of "The Pare=
nt=20
Trap. "

We are thrilled at the new possibilities for Bay Area actors to learn from t=
hi
s amazing professional of the casting industry.=C2=A0 With this experience i=
n=20
casting, Amy can teach what is needed in Los Angeles Film and TV Casting aud=
ition=20
situations and answer questions for actors that want to become competitive a=
nd=20
begin working in the LA market. The morning sessions will consist of lecture=
=20
and question and answer. You will have to the opportunity to find our ask=20
advice about everything from giving yourself an edge over the competition, g=
etting=20
good head-shots, constructing an effective resume, preparing for auditions=20
and getting into them, staying visible, to what the best way to approach the=
m=20
is. This is an incredible opportunity to pick the brain of someone that is=20
responsible for the casting of many critically acclaimed and award winning f=
ilms.=20
The afternoons will consist of her coaching actors in scene work, so you'll=20=
get=20
to hear her feedback as well. This will be team taught with Nancy Berwid.=20
