Hey guys -=20
Gosh, new news? Ummm...it's getting too crazy to keep track of...Allen Rowe=20
went down for roles on two shows, "Monk" and "The Division." Jeff Francisco=20
went down for the lead role on the upcoming feature film, "Next Exit" (and g=
ot=20
check availed!) and another series regular role on a new pilot that is being=
=20
produced by the director of the Blair Witch Project. Kristen Burke went in f=
or a=20
series regular role on the new pilot, "Johnny Zero." James Carraway went in=20
for "ER." And I went down for a second time for one of the lead roles in Rob=
=20
Marshall/Steven Speilberg film, "Memoirs of a Geisha."
Our little school is getting big time accolades from the top casting=20
directors and agents in the market that really counts - Los Angeles. It's pr=
etty wacky=20
- rumors are that we have more people in our SF classes that work regularly=20
in the LA Market than most of the LA acting classes down there. And hey - if=
=20
you can rock the LA Market whose standards are super high, then the SF marke=
t=20
will love you as well, you kind of shoot two birds with one stone!
The demand for First Take classes is growing every day...seriously guys, it'=
s=20
insane. Nancy's been teaching her method of working for about 3 years now an=
d=20
we are seeing just the beginnings of her students successes. Not only have=20
her students been able to make a smooth transistion from SF to the LA Market=
(or=20
even work the LA Market from SF), but we've had students get their SAG cards=
=20
on major prime time shows like ER (Dwana White), book recurring roles on maj=
or=20
TV shows like ER and Dragnet (Kathy McGraw), book great roles on major budge=
t=20
feature films (Kathy McGraw, Bee Seasons; Hector Bustamonte, Hostage), plus=20
soooooo many students that have been called in and signed by LA theatrical=20
agencies. The results really testify to the method that First Take actors us=
e in=20
approaching acting. Even casting directors and agents want to AUDIT her=20
classes, because they want to know what makes her actors so darn competitive=
so=20
quickly in the industry...
It looks like we may have *one* or *two* spots available for Nancy's next=20
South Bay Film TV class beginning May 13th, but we have a wait list going wh=
ich=20
you can get on in the order we receive deposits for the class. (First Take d=
oes=20
not cash your check until you actually get a spot.) Because of all the=20
interest and demand for Nancy's classes,=A0 we are going to start having peo=
ple who=20
want to get into Nancy's class DIRECTLY (without taking the Intro to the Fir=
st=20
Take Method Class) audition for a spot ...
The hiearchy for spots in Nancy's class- if you can call it that - goes:
Continuing students (they have the first four weeks of class to hold their=20
spot)
Returning Students (that are already used to the First Take method)
Intro students that are ready to move on (they get the spots that are open,=20
if any)
Wait List people (who still need to audition)...
If you have not yet heard about our Film/Tv class, it is specifically geared=
=20
toward the Film and TV acting and audition process.=A0 Its main focus is to=20
teach actors of all levels to learn how to analyze scripts and make the audi=
tion=20
successful without prior rehearsal with a scene partner, just as it would=20
happen in an audition situation.
As a student, you will be challenged to look at scripts in a new way that=20
will help you to identify with them and make them more real for you.=A0 As y=
ou=20
progress through the class, we provide personalized coaching to help you imp=
rove=20
your audition skills.=A0 This is essential in that it will help you to learn=
"How=20
to get the job!"=A0( career counseling, self-marketing, and networking advic=
e=20
dealing with the "in's and out's" of the Film and TV market ).
So if you are thinking about taking one of our classes or you want to come i=
n=20
and audit a class (or schedule an audition), please contact me! With the way=
=20
things are going, I'd do it sooner than later!!
