Hey, hey, hey hey!!!!

Just got back from the Scott Genkinger Weekend and I am always amazed how=20
much I learn about the industry from these weekend intensives. We got to hea=
r=20
from the horses mouth about the current casting situation in LA and we were=20=
on=20
our feet working a lot. Not only did we work on THREE scenes each, and have=20=
a in=20
depth question and answer session, but we also held several mock casting=20
sessions where we had students read for the same scene (according to type, o=
f=20
course) and we got to "see" what happens behind the scenes as well. The week=
ends=20
really kick your butt, I'll tell you...

But anyways, if you didn't hear the new gossip on our students, I'll include=
=20
them at the end of our email...and ...I hear ...(but I'm not going to say an=
y=20
names just yet)... that two of our students may get called in for SERIES=20
REGULAR roles on a new pilot being produced by John Wells! Keep your fingers=
=20
crossed!!!

I'm pretty proud of our class - we have such a cool group, but it's our=20
teacher Nancy Berwid that makes all the difference in the world - Even peopl=
e like=20
Victoria Burrows (Casting Director for Lord of the Rings) and Gary Zuckerbro=
d=20
(head of the Casting Society of America) and Amy Jo Berman (head of HBO Film=
s=20
casting), and well known theatrical agents are sending over their people to=20
her for training!

So anyways, this tuesday we are opening up registration for the next daytime=
=20
class=A0 to the public...or for the people in the class that want to renew b=
ut=20
haven't done so yet...(hint, hint).=20

The class begins on March 16th (Tuesdays from 2-5 pm) and runs for 8 weeks.

If you have not yet heard about this class, it is specifically geared toward=
=20
the Film and TV acting and audition process.=A0 Its main focus is to teach=20
actors of all levels to learn how to analyze scripts and make the audition=20
successful without prior rehearsal with a scene partner, just as it would ha=
ppen in an=20
audition situation. As a student, you will be challenged to look at scripts=20
in a new way that will help you to identify with them and make them more rea=
l=20
for you.=A0 As you progress through the class, Nancy provides personalized=20
coaching to help you improve your audition skills.=A0 This is essential in t=
hat it=20
will help you to learn "How to get the job!"=A0 Nancy also provides career=20
counseling, self-marketing, and networking advice dealing with the "in's and=
 out's" of=20
the Film and TV market.

I'm in this class, so if you're interested contact me and I'll tell ya all=20
about it!

PS: Here's the gossip for those who missed the last email:

(note the use of capitals!!!). Olivia Horoshko went directly to producers fo=
r 6=20
Feet Under, James Carraway auditioned and got callbacks for both The Divisio=
n=20
and Charmed. Kathy McGraw got called in for JAG...and yours truly, email=20
announcement girl somewhat extraordinaire (I'm getting a big head now aren't=
 I? -=20
j/k), got called in for series regular roles on two new Pilots called Doing=20=
It=20
and One by One.
