Hello guys!

Well, since a lot of you have been asking about when the next agent workshop=
=20
is going to be, Nancy is bringing up not one, but two LA theatrical agents f=
or=20
the weekend of March 6th and 7th...which is pretty cool since it's right in=20
the middle of pilot season and most agents are swamped at this time!=20

>From personal experience, I took two agent weekends before I signed with the=
=20
awesome agent that I have now. It really helped me see what I needed to work=
=20
on in order to become marketable in the current entertainment industry and w=
hat=20
the right way to approach an agent is and how to conduct myself as a=20
professional. They went over each person's headshot and resume and detailed=20=
what they=20
liked or didn't like about each one. And THEN we did scene work...now, I kno=
w=20
that some "showcases" for agents just mean that you do a scene and that's it=
,=20
but that has never been the case in First Take classes. We really get an=20
acting work out with feedback and everything. Because it's a weekend worksho=
p, we=20
get to know the agents more than if it was just a showcase.

In fact, one of the agents who is coming up on March 6th and 7th came here=20
last year. Since then, he has picked up 5 First Take students and has even=20
helped them get their SAG cards! I know that going to weekend workshops is l=
ooked=20
down upon by some people, but think about this: some people go down LA, do=20
their mailings and the rounds, but they come up with nothing after 3 years.=20=
It=20
get's a little discouraging. Why not work smarter?=20

When I first started taking classes with Nancy, I didn't know much about the=
=20
industry or about acting, but because of what I learned in class and through=
=20
the workshops, I was able to land an LA agent and am now auditioning for maj=
or=20
TV shows and movies. And it happened for me in less than a year. And to quot=
e=20
GI JOE: Knowing is half the battle. I think it actually saves time and energ=
y=20
to be learning from people that are in the the thick of the industry and up=20=
to=20
date on what is happening in the LA market....

As always,=A0 the morning sessions will consist of lecture and question and=20
answer. Actors will have to the opportunity to find our ask advice about=20
everything from giving yourself an edge over the competition, getting good h=
ead-shots,=20
constructing an effective resume, preparing for auditions and getting into=20
them, staying visible, to what the best way to approach them is. The afterno=
ons=20
will consist of coaching actors in scene work, so you'll get to hear feedbac=
k=20
as well. This will be team taught with Nancy Berwid.=20

Space in all First Take weekly and weekend classes is limited and=20
registration is done on a first come, first served basis.=A0 Contact us imme=
diately to find=20
out the details about this class and how to register.=20

* Again to reiterate: This is not a job interview or audition. =A0 The prese=
nce=20
of a casting director or agent is neither a guarantee nor a promise of=20
employment. =A0 The intent of the class is solely educational. =A0 Attending=
 a Workshop=20
is not a way to obtain employment as an actor. =A0 Such contact as you may h=
ave=20
with a casting director or agent at a workshop rarely results in any further=
=20
contact with that casting director or any company affiliated with that casti=
ng=20
director.

That was the legalese :-)...just so you know...
