I've been running a summer acting training program for teens ages=20
14-18, called the Advanced Acting Academy, and the program culminates=20
in our full-length performance of A.R. Gurney's modern classic, The=20
Dining Room.
Gurney=92s episodic comedy takes a look at the generational shift that=20=
occurs as the dining room, that bastion of traditional WASP culture,=20
gives way to the looser, more inclusive life styles that mark the end=20
of the 20th century in America. It's a modern classic, still=20
relevant, funny, and touching.
The production is staged at Palo Alto High School's Haymarket Theatre,=20=
50 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto, on Friday and Saturday, July 16 and 17,=20=
at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 general and $5 students/seniors-- if=20
you are receiving this e-mail as a member of BATA, BATB, or BAANG,=20
bring a copy of the e-mail and get two tickets for the price of one!
Youth theatre of this quality is refreshing and fun to watch-- hope you=20=
can join us.
See you at the theatre--
