Character breakdown for "The Second Lady"
CHUCK MACKLIN: The Pragmatic Campaign manager, 25-55.
SADIE SMITH: Chuck's overworked, slightly masculine, secretary. 25-40
MITZI: The take no bull maid at the convention hotel. 25-30
ANDREW WRIGHT: Presidential candidate...supposed bachelor..50's
BERTH SPROCK: The name says is all pretty much. The Brussel Spouts of
women. 50's. Has a promise to collect.
VERONICA PARKHURST: Classy, gorgeous, and an unwilling political pawn.
Social director of the hotel. Early 30's.
ELWOOD GOODBODY: A mild mannered man of the cloth. 60-70's.
This is a great ensemble piece. Mitzi and Elwood are small but fun
parts, Bertha is a real scene stealing opportunity (leave your
inhibitions at home) and Chuck, Sadie, Andrew, and Veronica are all
about chemistry, comedy and timing. This is a clever script that I have
not seen done before. It will be set in the present day.
Auditions will be held at our theater on the grounds of the Triton
Museum of Art, Don at Warburton Aves., Santa Clara (Directions are on
our website - www.scplayers.org )
