Dear Friends: =A0The Pear Ave. Theatre is proud to be sponsoring a =20
long-awaited acting workshop led by Jane Geesman. You don't want to =20
miss this rare opportunity-- here are the details from Jane. =A0Read on!

************************************************************************=20=

**********************
Where: =A0Jordan Middle School in Palo Alto, just south of Embarcadero, =20=

at 750 N. California. =A0Jeanie Forte is Jordan's drama teacher and has =20=

generously allowed us the use of her wonderful, spacious classroom. =20
This is the perfect venue for our workshop!

When: =A0Sept 10th (Friday evening) to Sept 12th (Sunday afternoon). =20
=A0This is an intensive workshop for those who find it difficult to =20
commit to an eight-week, once-a-week class structure. =A0Here's a =20
breakdown of the schedule that weekend:

Friday: 7-10:00 p.m.

Sat.: =A0=A0=A0=A010 - 1:00 p.m.
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Lunch Break (1 - 2:00)
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A02 - 5:30 p.m.
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Dinner Break (5:30 - 7:00)
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A07 - 10:00 p.m.

Sun.: =A0=A0=A010 - 2:00 p.m.

Cost: =A0=A0=A0=A0$175 for the full workshop. =A0However, we are =
offering an =20
early-bird special of $150 if you pay in full by August 15, 2004. =A0Such =
=20
a deal!

How to register: =A0E-mail me at jabem@aol.com if you plan to take the =20=

workshop. =A0We're limiting the number of participants to 14 (nice 'n' =20=

intimate), so don't delay. To take advantage of the "early-bird =20
special," which only goes to August 15, e-mail your interest to me so I =20=

can get you on the roster, then send your check (made out to the "Pear =20=

Avenue Theatre") directly to the Pear: =A01220 Pear Avenue, Unit K, =20
Mountain View, CA 94043.

This workshop is for you if you want to:
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Deepen your knowledge of the craft of acting.
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Learn or review important acting fundamentals.
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Become a more conscious actor and infuse your =
performances with =20
more depth and honesty.
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Learn valuable tools for approaching a script/character.
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Gain poise and confidence onstage.

My co-leader (Sarah Lucht, an actor/teacher in Portland) and I have led =20=

numerous workshops through the years, both together and individually. =20=

Our workshops are an amalgamation of exercises designed to enhance and =20=

refine knowledge of acting fundamentals (regardless of your level of =20
experience!), plus body-centered techniques =A0and ensemble work that =20=

encourage full-bodied, honest performances (versus the "talking-head" =20=

syndrome!).

Please don't worry about being too inexperienced (or too experienced, =20=

either) for this workshop. =A0There's plenty of valuable information to =20=

be gleaned no matter how little (or how much) you've performed onstage.

Important Note: This workshop is not about final performance; it's =20
about the process of acting. =A0There will be no final presentation, no =20=

grades, no reviews. =A0Our goal is to provide a learning environment for =
=20
you that is challenging, safe, and above all, FUN!

Please write Jane at JaBem@aol.com if you have any questions at all =20
(or, of course, to register).

involved in theatre for over twenty-five years. =A0She received her =20

which led to her work as a teacher and director. Directing credits in =20=

this area include Dragon Productions' "Collected Stories," at the Pear =20=

Avenue Theatre; plus "Anton In Show Business" and "Joseph and the =20
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Palo Alto Players. =A0Jane currently =20=

leads acting workshops and classes in both Portland and British =20
Columbia.

workshops.
