Bring sheet music in your key. Piano accompanist provided =96 NO TAPES PLEASE
Two types of dance auditions: Dancers and Basic Movers
Cold readings from script for all speaking parts provided at the Callbacks

Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi =96 This role has been cast =96 Alto (G to C sharp)
There will be possible understudy consideration. Dolly is an indefatigable
meddling matchmaker; a widow in her middle years.

Horace Vandergelder - Baritone (B flat to E) =96 Proprietor of a Hay and Feed
Store in Yonkers, NY and a client of Mrs. Levi=92s. A widower of some means.
Age range 55-65.

Ambrose Kemper - Baritone (F sharp to F sharp) =96 A young artist, seeking to
marry Horace Vandergelder=92s niece, Ermangarde. Age range 20-30

Ermengarde - Alto (A to C sharp) - Vandergelder=92s Niece, in love with
Ambrose .Age range 17-25

Cornelius Hackl =96 Tenor (C to high G) =96 Horace Vandergelder=92s chief clerk.
Age range 33-40=20

Barnaby Tucker - Tenor (B flat to high G)- An assistant to Cornelius. Age
range 18-30

Irene Molloy - Mezzo (low (G) A to high D (E)) =96 Runs a Hat Shop near 14th
St. in New York City. Dolly is introducing her to Horace Vandergelder. Age
Range 30-40.

Minnie Fay- Mezzo/Soprano (B flat to F) Irene Molloy=92s assistant at the Hat
Shop. =85.Age Range 18-30

Ernestina- Mezzo (F to D)- An earnest girl in need of Mrs. Levi=92s
matchmaking services. Age range 28-40.


Ensemble of 12-14 men and women who dance and/or move well. There are
feature roles to be cast from the ensemble such as; Mrs. Rose, Rudolph,
Stanley, Cook 1, Cook 2, the Policeman, Judge and the Court Clerk.


Rehearsals will begin Monday, March 22, 2004
Performance dates: May 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30,
