C.A.F.E. and Off-Market Theater are offering a one-day Acting for Sketch
Artists workshop with local teacher and director, Cris Cassell.
In your sketch comedy, would you like to:
* Create more specific and unique characters?
* Strengthen your characters' relationships on
stage?
* Know what your character wants and how to get it?
* Invent more effective and original scenes?
* Take risks on stage?
* Make powerful choices as a performer?
If you respond to any of these questions, this workshop is for you.
If you've ever watched another performer on stage and thought, "Wow,
They're really good! I wish I could do that," you're probably
watching someone who is not only funny, but a skilled actor as well.
During the day, we will look at the specific challenges of being a
comedic sketch artist, and apply practical acting technique to make
you better at what you do and take your performance to a higher level.
Participants are invited to bring in characters and sketches to
explore and develop further in the workshop. Revitalize old material,
and expand and solidify new ideas.
Come with your questions about the acting process, and how to make it
work for you as a sketch artist.
