When you attend a theatrical production, do you wish you were up on stage
instead of in the audience? Or you=B9re a veteran of many auditions, but the
role you covet often eludes you. Want to feel more confident of giving
yourself the best chance of landing that plum role? If you would like to

to Audition master class: one day only, Saturday, May 22 from 12 - 4
Lyric Theatre Warehouse, 430 Martin Ave in Santa Clara (nearest cross stree=

is De la Cruz). All participants will have several opportunities to sing.
Please have your piece memorized. You may be asked to provide a copy of th=
e
accompaniment in advance.
Fee: $75 for participants (limited to 12) - advance registration only. $2=

Your instructors:
Kay Kleinerman is a noted Bay Area singer, actor, stage director and arts
educator. Her recent directing credits include a staged reading of the new
play Hatikva and The Elixir of Love, La Traviata, and Don Pasquale for San
Francisco Lyric Opera. She has also directed for The San Francisco Fringe
Festival, The Bay One-Acts Festival, City Lights Theater Co., Bus Barn Stag=
e
Co., Pleasanton Playhouse and Mira Theater among others. Prior to
directing, Kay spent ten years as a professional singer/actor with Broadway
national tour, off-Broadway, regional theater and opera credits to her name=
.
Kay has been a member of the performing arts faculties at West Valley
College and De Anza College and has served as Arts Education Manager for Sa=
n
Francisco Shakespeare Festival and Artistic Director for Hillbarn Theatre.
Kay earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Cleveland Institute of Music
and her Master of Arts degree from New York University.
Monica Ashton is a pianist, keyboardist, organist and composer. She
received her undergraduate degree from Manhattanville College and studied
songwriting and composition at SUNY Purchase. Monica served as Assistant
Director of the Shumiatcher School of Music in Larchmont, New York where sh=
e
also taught piano. While living in New York, she performed extensively
throughout the tri-state area with several different groups and also was an
active accompanist for students at Brooklyn College and Abraham Goodman
House. Currently, Monica is part of the group VanAsh, which performs
frequently around the bay area. She also teaches piano privately and is
continuing to compose both popular and liturgical music.=20
