My head hurts from all the auditions and callbacks First Take students have
been called into these last (two?!?) weeks...here's just more proof that the
First Take method WORKS!!!!
James Carraway- West Wing, Enterprise, Cold Case, Rent (the movie being
produced by Robert De Niro), Robert McGee Feature Film
Kathy McGraw- McBride 4
Scott Hammer- Jack and Bobby, got called back for Quintuplets
Christiane Crawford, Giovannie Pico, Amy Provenzano, Don Williams, Mackenzie
Firgens- Rent (the movie being produced by Robert De Niro), and Mackenzie got
a callback!
Kristen Burke - got called in to read for the part of Ann Margaret for the
upcomign Elvis mini-series...she also got a callback!
Jeff Francisco- a Stephen King Feature Film
Giovannie Pico - The Darwin Awards, a feature film starring Winona Ryder and
Joseph Fiennes, also got a callback!
Hector Bustamante - CSI Miami
Tom Biagini - The OC
Comika Beaudry- Alias, McBride 4
Bethany- Passions, and the pilot for a new FX series
Auditioning for film and TV, especially by Los Angeles standards, is a whole
different beast than auditioning for the local industrials and commercials
that we have up here in San Francisco. And that's what First Take really
specializes in...I don't know of ANY OTHER SCHOOL in the Bay Area that has had their
students get their foot in the door and on their way to a solid career in the
LA / Film TV Market.
Here are the next classes that are coming up:
SAN FRANCISCO
Sundays, from 6-9 (new session beginning December 5th)
*co-taught by Kathy McGraw and Giovannie Pico
Tuesdays, from 2-5 (new session beginning December 20th)
*taught by Nancy Berwid
LOS GATOS
Thursdays from 4-7 (new session beginning January 6th)
*taught by Nancy Berwid
The main focus of our class is to teach actors of all levels to learn how to
break down a script into its essential parts, analyze it and identify with it
as is essential to an effective audition. As a student, you will be challenged
to look at scripts in a new way that will help you to identify with them and
make them more real for you. As you progress through the class, you will be
provided personalized coaching to help you improve your audition skills and will
also help you out with self-marketing and networking advice as well as teach
you about the "in's and out's" of the film and TV market.
Now just to make it clear, I want to let you guys know that there is NO
guarantee that Nancy's class make people into movie or TV stars or whatever...but
she does gives us the tools and training to be competitive in the LA
Market...and so far, for a LOT of our dedicated students, it has been working!
So with all the buzz that our class is getting, I'd call or email or just to
audit even!!!
