Were preparing to shoot a feature film in San Francisco in May of this year
(2005) for which we still need two actors and some other personnel. It's a
new translation of Jean Genet's 'The Maids' that's going to have an all-male
cast (as Genet once said he originally intendedthe characters are all
women.) The writing's fabulous and we've got a great team put together.

For the cast, we need one man in his thirties or forties (ethnicity is not
important) and one man over fifty (perhaps well over again, ethnicity is
not important, but were hoping to find a person of color for at least one
of the roles).

The auditions will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday the 9th of April at 574
Natoma Street (which is between Mission and Howard and between 7th and 6th
Streets, closer to 7th). Actors need not send anything in advance, but
should bring with them a risumi and head shot. I can send you a copy of the

We also need a Producer, a Sound Operator, a Script Supervisor, a Make-up
Artist (with experience making up men as women), and a Set Decorator.

Regrettably, it's a first-time-out venture with no funding so we can't offer
to pay. What we can offer is on-screen credit, meals during the shoot and a
video copy of the finished film. And because this will be the first new
translation of this well known work by Genet in over fifty years, because it
will be the first-ever translation for an American audience, and because it
will be the first-ever film version to use an all-male cast, we expect the
film to attract attention and get fairly wide festival screening.
